Pondering a Giveaway
It’s not a secret that interest in Caught in the 3rd Act has never been particularly strong, and I haven’t had many regular visitors in the months since I started this project. I’m again on the fence about whether to continue to go forward with the project or not, and whether to do so in its current form.
I really do enjoy broadcasting my writing sessions, but most of the time my only viewer is a friend of mine from the real world. I don’t even get many views over time on YouTube. It makes me wonder why I continue to broadcast at all, and it keeps coming back to I enjoy it. But I’d enjoy it a lot more if I knew someone outside my immediate circle of friends and family showed they cared. Like I said, I don’t get many regular viewers, and I haven’t gotten any comments on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, it the website in 10 months. Not a single one.
So, I must be doing something or somethings wrong
Since this is season of giving, I’m thinking about doing a giveaway in the hopes of boosting viewership and participation. As this would come completely out of my pocket and my income barely edges my expenses, the prize would be modest. I’m currently thinking about the latest version of the Barnes and Noble Nook dedicated reading tablet. It’s not very exciting or sexy, but it’s at least appropriate given this project is all about reading and writing. As a bonus, I’ll work with the winner to create a character in the story and plan out its involvement in the plot.
I’d ask you what you thought, but I’m afraid I’ll be met with more silence. So, I’ll think about this some more and let you know in the next broadcast.
